Board of Directors
Graham Maloney is the Chairman of Spitfire Corporation. Graham has over 40 years’ experience in financial services including superannuation, life and general insurance, asset management, stock broking and investment banking. This experience includes roles at AXA, AIG, Macquarie, UBS and NAB where he was Group Treasurer. He left corporate life ten years ago to take up Board roles. Over these 10 years he has held a broad range of directorships covering NFP, private, public and listed entities. His board roles have included chairing a number of audit, risk and compliance committees, chairing investment committees and chairing a funds management group. In addition to his role at Spitfire Graham is currently the Chair of Connective Group and is a non-executive director at SGFleet.
Brian has been with Spitfire from when it was founded. He advises small to mid market capitalisation companies on corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions and investor relations. A Non-Executive Director with several ASX listed companies he has been Managing Director, Non-Executive Chairman and Director with numerous other ASX listed companies over the past 10 years. This followed a 15 year career in financial services having held Director level roles with an Australian bank, an international investment banking and funds management group and corporate stockbroker.
Brian graduated from the University of Adelaide with a BSc in Mineral Economics, the University of Western Australia Business School with an MBA and the Securities Institute of Australia (now FinSIA) with a Certificate in Applied Finance and Investment.
Jean-Jacques van Helten
Jean-Jacques, Managing Director & Chief Risk Officer, EMEA for Bank of Montreal (BMO) Financial Group and a Fellow of the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies in Florence.
He is an experienced C-suite Risk Professional with a demonstrated multi-year history of working in the banking industry internationally across Australia, Europe & Asia with strong bottom-line & solution-orientated operational focus. Skilled in Market, Liquidity & Operational Risks and Credit Risk Analytics.
Laurence Milne is the Founder and an Executive Director at the Company. His experience in funds management and comprehensive background in institutional commodities markets has driven the companies best practice approach to investment management and continuing pursuit to build the asset manager of tomorrow.
Head of Distribution
David Storm David is an experienced Financial Services Executive having worked across Funds Management, Stock Broking, Self-Managed Superannuation, Insurance, Financial Planning and advice and Retail Banking. David has been a member of Investment Committees at Citibank, Ord Minnett, OneVue and Advance Asset Management, bringing over 20 years of investment experience having worked with some of Australia’s top investment Professionals.
Head of Operations
Anthea is Head of Operations for Spitfire Corporation. She is responsible for platform operations including treasury and cash management, trade processing, reconciliation and reporting. For the past 25 years, Anthea has held senior management positions at foreign Authorised Deposit-taking Institutions (ADI’s). Prior to Spitfire, she was responsible for the project managed business integration and system conversion for the Securitisation team at Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). Her management of the RBS Operations teams following staff restructures bought stability to a workplace undergoing significant change. Anthea holds a Bachelor of Commerce from UWA
Head of Transitions
Robert has been working in the finance industry for over 15 years, starting out in custody at JP Morgan Chase. He has since worked with ABN AMRO BANK NV, The Royal Bank of Scotland, and with Morgan Stanley. He has extensive experience in managing operations teams and a strong middle office management back ground. Robert has a broad knowledge across multiple products including Equities, Fixed Income and Derivatives. Robert has a solid Institutional banking background and exposure to retail investments through Warrants and Structured Products at ABN and RBS. Robert is committed to ensuring our clients have access to the most innovative and exciting platform in the market. Robert is a qualified DTR and is RG146 industry accredited as well as other industry related certificates.
Head of Client Services
Chris joined Spitfire Corporation in September 2018 as Head of Client Services, bringing with him more than a decade of experience in the platform services and wealth management industries. Chris supports the transactional and investment needs of Advisers and their operational staff to ensure client engagements are delivered with the highest level of quality and professionalism. He has a proven track record of key account management and prior to joining the team at Spitfire served as the Adviser Services Manager at Mason Stevens Limited. Chris has also previously held positions with UBS Investment Bank and Canaccord Capital. Chris holds a BA/LLB from the Australian National University, and is ADA1 accredited.
Chief Technology Officer
Nathan is responsible for aligning Spitfire’s technology strategy with business objectives. He has a background in big data, security and investment banking technology. He has experience ranging from building trading systems for large enterprises to cloud-based applications for startups. Nathan is a proponent of strong DevOps practices, agile software development and continuous improvement. Nathan holds a Bachelor of Computer Engineering with First Class Honours from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Steve is the Engineering Director at Spitfire, and manages all the engineering teams. Steve has broad experience working in software development and delivery for over 20 years across Investment Banking, Funds Management and ecommerce. Previously working for TripAdvisor with responsibility for security, site reliability and architecture and prior to that working for over 12 years in Funds Management with Milestone Group delivering software solutions to some of the largest Custodians and Fund Managers in the World, such as State Street, BNP, JP Morgan and Citibank to name a few. Steve has a BA degree in Economics.
James has 10 years experience with a deep understanding of web services, databases and user experience. He is an entrepreneur, team lead, start up and enterprise native. Founder of https://harth.io/, tech lead for https://dphoto.com and solved several complex technical problems for NBN Co. These include conduit packing, surface identification and critical geo-spatial information systems.
Seven years of professional experience in Software Engineering specialising on Software Design and Development, Software Services, Database Systems, Cloud and Big Data Technologies and Financial Systems. Bachelor of Software Engineering degree (Honours) from the University of Sydney.
